I am very drawn to Garnet at the moment so treated myself to a little palm stone. Also known as the pomegranate stone due to its similarity to the vibrant red pomegranate seeds, Garnet symbolises courage, positive thinking, creativity and self confidence. It is connected to the Root Chakra and can therefore help with grounding and can help those who have deep-rooted and unresolved trauma by facilitating release. The Romans believed the Garnet could protect against evil and was particularly good at warding off malevolent witchcraft and disease whilst the Egyptians revered it as a symbol of life and attributed it to their Goddess of War, Sekhmet.

For me, it is the multi-layered aspect of the palm stone, with glimpses of the deep undertone that is so rich in hue and the battered outside, scratched and chipped that makes me feel like it is okay to be human and my strength lies in the whole of the stone rather than the bit that glistens.
